What's the difference between mantles and capes?

A cloak is basically a cape with a hood. A cape is a piece of material worn around the neck and shoulders, like the things superheroes like Superman and Batman wear:

A mantle is an article of clothing that's related, but what's the difference between a mantle and a cape? Or are they the same thing? Please help.

@JGoldman10,
Sometimes the differences are so obvious that one forgets the definitions:

@Francis,
Mantle. A long, loose cape-like cloak worn from the 12th to the 16th century by both sexes, although by the 19th century, it was used to describe any loose-fitting, shaped woman's outer garment similar to a cape.

Same difference with everything in it.
