I have a water softner and RO system. I have taken the water hardness test with the following results:
Untreated Water - 180 mg/L, Water after Softner - 150 mg/L, Water after RO system - 20mg/L

Are there any problems noticed with these results? Should not the Water Softner water be at a lower results?

Thanks

@tlb531,
I don't think you are conducting a 'hardness test' or your testing method is inaccurate. How is this test being done?

@tlb531,
Was this test done with a TDS meter? If so the hard water and soft water results will be relatively the same because the softener is exchanging mineral content for sodium. The proper test for hard water and soft water is measured in grains per gallon (gpg). IE: 20 gpg hard water / 0 gpg soft. The reading from the RO looks good as nearly 90% of the total dissolved solids (TDS) are being removed.
