@PDiddie,
I can take a guest to the new Science Museum at Golden Gate Park, but it's only one at a time. It'll cost $25 for all others. It's a great museum with plenty to see, and the planetarium show is one of the best you'll ever see.
I usually take people over to the de Young museum to go to the tower to get a view of San Francisco when it's not fogged in. Of coarse, there's always the Japanese Garden that is very popular close by.

I'll contact georgeob and find out if he has any recommendation for a venue.

@Lash,
I spend 10 days at a hotel on a nude beach in Espana, when I got home I joined a Amish Retirement Village.

@cicerone imposter,
mmm, consider adding Scala to that, as PDiddie liked it the first time.

@cicerone imposter,
A whole bunch of us sat in their glassed in private dining room, including the PDiddies, Dys and Diane, etc. You and your liked wife missed that one, but it was very cool. The food was great and the conversation better. Not that I'm pushing it, just that maybe it is considered.

@ossobuco,
A lot of the rest of the time had a structure with expansive leeway.
There was the place you picked, I think, Sinbads. We were about the only people in the place. Major hilarity with Dys and the waitress, perhaps her winning.
That was an oldie restaurant at the foot of the Bay Bridge. Me, I couldn't pee in the bathroom as I couldn't see the stall (night/dark blind). I think I ran in at the Hyatt.

I found us a place for breakfast at the St. Francis, but it had been decimated when we showed up, and PDid lead us to the near empty wonderful place across the street.

@ossobuco,
Then there was the miserable basque place.. alas, that I had found. We managed to leave jjorge in the bathroom, which reminds me of my own experience at the washington monument., and others in New York at Pierre au Tunnel...
But I'll claim finding Scala.

I'll alway love jjorge, stalwart companion.

@cicerone imposter,
I've no idea if that place would work again, and don't automatically think doing it seven years later is a good idea. We had a great evening at the time.

Actually, at this point I think restaurants need money more than ever from those kind of rooms, and that I would not sign up for that. I think we had some luck at the time.

@McTag,
In a real quandary here.

Cannot seem to make up my mind about how long to stay to do the things we want to do.

If we come out for four days then we might only have one day to spend with you all, if we take the two-day tour to San Simeon. (It's a half-day to travel each way.) And that means we miss a Yosemite tour, and/or a Muir Woods/Sausalito tour ...

Then again if we come out for a week to add all that then we're up to around 4K (the way we like to go) and we want to go across the pond this year too.

What will help us decide is if we kind of have an idea what others are doing, how long you'll be there, what you want or plan to do, etc.

So I'm waiting to read what it is you are thinking of.

@PDiddie,
If you spend more time in this area, I would be willing to take you to several of the sites in Northern California including Muir Woods/Sausalito. There is also an interesting (worthwhile) Train Museum in Old Sacramento, and we can also drop by Jelly Belly Candy Factory in Fairfield during the same day trip. If we rush it, we can even take in Napa.

You decide; I'll be available.

Okay, folks. We're getting close to M day, and I want to get a head count.

Who's planning to come on May 28 and/or May 29 (and other days are possible for excursions)?

I'm leaving for ten days starting on Tuesday, and will be back on May 20.

Also, please let me know if you're a "maybe." thx. T.

* "M" day is Meet day(s)
