My husband is currently trying to get custody of his daughter because we fear neglect and abuse. My husband pay child support to the mother and the child lives with the mother aunt in a seperate house which her mom does not stay. She sleeps on the floor in a room full of her BOY cousins (10, 9 &4). We've discussed this with police but the only thing they say is we have to take it to court. She cried and completly gets quiet when its time to take her back home. We just filed for custody but the courts can take up 2 a year to get results. Would contacting CPS be the correct resolution?
Absolutely - and do it ASAP.
This child should have her own bed in her own room.
Plus she is not living with her custodial parent. (or does the aunt have guardianship?)
Please act quickly. She needs to see that her father is protecting her.
Ask for immedite placement in your home.
