Can anyone help me? Error question

I recently had Windows 7 installed. Im trying to load my Sims 3 games (they worked fine on the old XP system), but the original game will not install. Autorun is taking forever and after a very long wait i get d:\sims3setup.exe error performing inpage operation. Does anyone know why this is occuring? thanks.
