The worlds first riddle!

Well thoh I meant to sound bitter. Not know the answer. Why do you say that? Every problem that has been put here since I have been here has been answered. So, why of a sudden would out of the blue one is put on and left with no answer? I do not believe "they" do not know the answer.
If "they" do not know the answer then why did "they" post it? BTW how many "they" are there? I was actually starting to learn. I worked on that problem a long time. Only to be told by you I may never be told the answer. That to me that is unacceptable. Then do not leave a problem to be worked on. I actually like to learn. I was starting to learn. I even asked you or mark to help me and neither of you would. You had an answer. Which means even you will not help me. I say that because from what I have seen you show your work. You did not show your work on this one.
I showed mine. I do not understand it. All I wanted to know is the formula. All I wanted to do was learn. Good bye thoh and mark. Now I have kept my word and can leave.

the reason i didnt post my solution is because it was too long....but if u wanna see it then fine.

for every mile u travel, u eat one orange.
so im going by one mile increments (the partition i used)
if i start with 1000 oranges and take em 1 mile, i arrive w/ 999
to go back i need an orange for the trip so i bring 1 back (so leave 998)
then i take the 2nd thousand and do the same. drop off 998
come back for last 1000 and arrive at the 1 mile mark w/ 999 oranges.
so to transport oranges for 1 mile cost me 5 oranges so i have 2995 now.
and i do the same thing over and over.......for the 1st 200 miles.
At that point i have 2000 oranges left. (3000-200(5)=2000)
now for every mile, it will cost me 3 oranges....to, back, and to.
I can do this for 333 miles.
at that point i will have 1001 oranges left (2000-333(3)-1001)
i can cary 1000 at one point, so that 1 orange will be lost cause because if i carry 1000 (eat 1) drop off 998 (take one for trip back for 1 orange) so i leave 997. go get orange, and eat it to go back and have 997 oranges...when it would have been better to leave it and have 999 oranges. so iv gone 200 + 333 + 1 = 534 miles, and have 999 orangs left and 1000-534 = 466 miles left
so 999-466=533 oranges that i can get to market
