In the California LOTTO game, participants select six numbers from 1 to 49. You win a prize if you can match 3, 4, 5, or 6 numbers.

What is the probability that a person would match none of the numbers Question

Answers must be expressed as a decimal (correct to four decimal places like .xxxx), a percent (correct to 2 decimal places like xx.xx%), or in the form "1 in xx.xx" (correct to 2 decimal places).

Assuming that six number are drawn by the LOTTO folks,

C(49-6,6) / C(49,6)
= (43*42*41*40*39*38)/(49*48*47*46*45*44)
= 0.43596497551169151539179291260697

The answer is indeed .4360 or 43.60% or 1 in 2.29 that a person would match no numbers!

First, determine the number of different combinations of 49 numbers taken 6 at a time. There are 13,983,816 different possible combinations. So, the chances of matching all six numbers are 1 in 13,983,816.

Next, you must figure the number of ways in which none of the numbers matched. There are 43 numbers which do not match, so take the number of combinations of 43 numbers taken 6 at a time. This answer is 6,096,454. Now, divide these two numbers to get your answer. The probability of not matching any of the six numbers is 6,096,454 divided by 13,983,816.

?'Whoever has it is angry, Whoever loses it is angrier, Whoever wins it has it no more'

I'm not gonna have a dispute about the above. Cool

Dispute it is.

Can you match all 11 NAMES and POSITIONS of the 1957 State Champions Football team from the clues below Question

1. Lindon has scored more than the center; and surprisingly, Lowe has scored more than the right end.

2. Brown is heavier than the ends, guards, and center, but slower than the right half.

3. The fullback and center have wives and children.

4. The left half will marry Brown's sister, while the right half is also engaged.

5. Wilson stays with the left guard and his wife.

6. Frantz and Isherwood play a right or center position.

7. Isherwood punts better than the right half back.

8. Haston's and Lindon's wives are lawyers.

9. The right guard, right end, Wilson, Frantz, and Isherwood are all 5 bachelors.

10. The captain is also the quarterback.

11. The left tackle and Shickle often go fishing together.

12. Pleacher, Leonard, and the halves play cards with Wilson.

13. The tackles often play tennis with Haston and the quarterback.

14. The quarterback is getting a divorce. Brown was married before the quarterback or left tackle, who was married last week.

15. Leonard and assistant captain Carpenter are not guards, ends or center.

16. The captain constantly relies on the linemen and Shickle.

For the benefit of non-sports fans the positions are:
• Left End:
• Left Tackle:
• Left Guard:
• Center:
• Right Guard:
• Right Tackle:
• Right End:
• Quarterback:
• Right Half Back:
• Left Half Back:
• Fullback:

I very much doubt any one person can crack this. However, a team effort might succeed. I will cross any correct positions off the list. Good luck dudes.

morn doesn't count as a real word. replace it with "boon."

Isherwood is right tackle because it's the only non-wife position left, which logically shows that Wilson is only pretending to be on the team. Therefore the team is short a player and loses horrifically in the next game. Lets Go Yankees!

Are the Quarterback and fullback center positions? (that was probably my mistake.) Who are the linemen? Can a captain be his own assistant captain?

Vi, is that you; the sassy lassie with the classy chasse?

It's me - Try. The guy who used to live next door. Oh, those Tennessee nights! I almost cried when you got locked up in the slammer, which probably accounts for your two year absence. Still, it's good to see you back.

Disclaimer: If you are not; Vi Minny Heurts please disregard the above.

Mark, it is also good to see you back in action buddy. I was told you and Shari had left for the hills, what with her being with child and all. Which probably accounts for the ease when in the mood, you got in the barn in only three moves.

mood - moon - morn - born - barn Cool

Yes, there are two valid answers.

Mood
Moon
Boon
Born
Barn

SANDWICHES
Francis get $3.50, Cool Whim get $0.50 Cool

Each person eats 2 2/3 sandwiches.
Francis contributes 2 1/3 sandwiches (or 7/3).
Whim contributes 1/3 of a sandwich.
Therefore, Francis gives 7 times as much as Whim, and should be paid in that ratio.

With reference to: 1957 State Champions Football team. History has usually shown it I who has made mistake. Therefore, I give the answer and let you decide for yourselves.

Answer:
• Left End: Wilson
• Left Tackle: Carpenter
• Left Guard: Lindon
• Center: Haston
• Right Guard: Lowe
• Right Tackle: Isherwood
• Right End: Pleacher
• Quarterback: Leonard (Of course!)
• Right Half Back: Frantz
• Left Half Back: Shickle
• Fullback: Brown
