COFFEE
One cup of each. Cool

I couldn't actually do this experiment because I don't like coffee. Shocked

Ok! So as not to disadvantage you, what is the answer if we use ?'tea', you do drink tea don't you? Laughing

(You have had the same amount of milk as you have had coffee. The cup originally held a cup of coffee (one-sixth plus one-third plus one-half), and you have poured in the same amount of milk)

You have a farm a need to buy three sorts of animals

Horse cost 10 dollar
Goat cost 2.5 dollar
chicken cost 0.10 dollar

Normally you have 100 dollar and nee d to buy 100 animals total, but here is the twist, it is possible to solve the puzzle for x dollar and x animals, but what is the minimal whole number of dollars for x to solve this puzzle?

zero (probably not what you're looking for)

If you don't have to buy at least one of each type of animal, then you can buy 3 goats and 5 chickens for $8.

That's right Mark. I wonder how many possible solutions this puzzle has without the constraint minimum, but with a maximum of 100 animals for $100

19 animals for $19

Each horse requires ten chickens to average $1 per animal.
Three goats require five chickens to average $1 per animal.

Therefore, I suspect all solutions are of the form:
11x + 8y
where x and y are positive integers.

THEATRE LINE

2*(n-k-1)*(n-2)! Cool

Or as I saw it 2 * 7 * 8! (same difference) Laughing
Shari (S) and Pamela (P), together with the two people between them, make up a fixed unit. With the four people fixed through this requirement, there are six others to account for, or a total of 7 "spots" in the line-up.

First, choose one of the seven spots for the 4-person unit. This can be done in 7 ways. Now, using the six other spots and the two between S and P, permute the 8 other people into these 8 spots. This can be done in 8! ways. Finally, recognize that P and S could change places, thus there are two ways for S and P to arrange each other within the four-person unit. If you don't believe me, just ask Mark.
