@Phoenix32890,
I like cogitate, but I have misappropriated it from a previous generation.

Don't know, but in the same vein, "assembly". Don't know if the kids have that either.

Yeah; I remember when it changed. I was a little perplexed about it.

That certainly dates you, Phoenix, as one of the people turned into mindless drones by Strunk & White.

Actually, there were no beatniks during the hippie era, which I consider long dead and buried.

I beg your pardon. There are plenty of us old hippies around. We just blend in these days.

And yes, there were beatniks during the early hippie years, late 60s. Where do you think we got our training?

Groovy man.

@IRFRANK,
How about 'thinking outside the box on this one? Who else worked in an office in the 80's?

Can someone advise me on the correct way to keep these threads going. Do I reply to the last post or to the original question? Not sure I'm doing this right.

Either will work. Sometimes one wants to relate to the original question. Other times, a member wants to respond to a particular response. Either will result in keeping the thread going. In this instance, I am replying to your response.

@sms,
Ahh, you have to come from Brooklyn to understand this. There was a place near the water called Plum Beach. Teenage boys would take their dates there to watch the "submarine races".

Google "submarine races", and you will find plenty of references.
