Actually, Roberta, those words translate to "All Good Things to Your Grandmother."
It is better to just say, Happy Birthday, Thomas!
Wandel, I know enough German (from Yiddish) to know that grandmother's aren't mentioned. But just to play it safe,
Hey, Happy Birthday, Thomas.
What does everyone have against Thomas's Gran? I'm sure see is delightful and worth praise!

@msolga,
Lets face it olga, Youre a lush who would just as soon celebrate TUESDAY with a "chilled glass of wine".
@farmerman,
Let's face it, farmer.
That was a cheap shot!
I was imbibing (in the
tiniest possible way) to celebrate with Thomas. On this special day of days.
And I
know he will appreciate it!
@msolga,
Then why did you slur your words?
@farmerman,
I did no such thing!
The slurring is in your imagination!
@msolga,
Happy birthday, Thomas.
I think I'll have another glass now!
All right, now I'm a bit overwhelmed by all those good wishes.Thank you all so much!
Thank you for starting this thread, Roberta--and don't listen to WandelJW, it does say "Happy Birthday"!
Sozobe, Setanta, Reyn, Jespah, Dlowan, Farmerman, Edgar, Margo: How nice of you all to think of me!
Letty, thanks for the baloon and the song! And a good day for you, too!
Ossobuco: I'm not quite sure what this salad is, but it sure looks as if it has a whole lot of parsley in it. I love it!
I always wanted my atom collider, Tsar! How thoughtful of you to send me one!
Failures Art: I admit I have my moments. How could the Earth have found its way around the Sun before I was there to provide expert guidance?
WandelJW, all good things to your own grandmother, too!
Cake! Candles! As always, you are too good to me, Izzie!
Littlek! Apple Pi! Mmmmmmh! I will enjoy every last digit of it.
Olga, I bet this chilled glass of wine will go well with Osso's salad--or, if it's sweet, with littlek's pie. Don't pay attention to farmerman, and certainly don't give him any! Hope you enjoyed that second glass!
And if there's anyone I forgot to thank, I'm sorry. I didn't mean to, it was just my chronic absent-mindedness. Let me just offer one last round of thanks, just to be sure. Y'all are the best!

It is better to trust Thomas, Roberta. He is well aware that nothing I post should be taken seriously.
Herzliche Glückwünsche zum Geburtstag
@Thomas,
It's a tabouli (tabbouleh) - made with bulgar and lots of parsley -
recipe here:

Damn right, Wandel!
Thanks Joe!
Love the recipe Osso, and will try it as soon as I come back to the States.

There is one (in German) on
Rezept Wiki, too.
@Walter Hinteler,
It's interesting: remembering that Thomas likes parsley, I looked up photos of tabouleh (in both spellings) on Google images - and saw that there seems to be a lot of variation in what the dish can look like, and contents/proportions. I love it myself. Between that and parsley pesto, I eat scads of parsley. I need to grow more of it this coming year.
@Thomas,
Well, it looks like I'm late again. A happy belated birthday, Thomas. I hope you are enjoying the Munich snow!
@Swimpy,
And soon he'll be back for New Jersey/New York snow...
Have a good flight, Thomas.
