Anyone seen or acted in or directed the play "Art"?
Reactions, please.
Billy, I have read about it, but have never seen it or worked on it. Have you?
Saw it a few years ago on the Alliance Theatre stage in Atlanta. Can't remember too much about it except that it was very smart and there were a few funny moments but there was nothing that really stood out for me. Of course, it won rave reviews and many theatre awards so, don't go by me!
I'll be directing "Art" early next year and was fishing for reactions and responses that might add some insight or help avoid hindsight.
Thanks for your comments.
A great play
It's a great play. Focus on the relationships between the three men. The 'painting' is just the catylist to explore their dealings with each other.
Good luck with the piece.

actors' play
I played Serge in a production of "Art" a couple of years ago. The dialogue is fantastic and the experience for me was unforgettable. The three actors get to engage in some great interaction with humor, depth, and ultimately a message of friendship. Hopefully we will reprise it someday.
