I had an MRI 3 days ago. Could a neorologist interpret the report for me? "Findings: An elongated focal area of cortical and subcortical white matter atrophy is present in the right posterolateral temporal/occipital region, extending close to the visual cortex. Minor surrounding FLAIR hyperintensity. This is compatible with an old infarct or other focal brain insult.
No other focal cerebral abnormality. No haemorrhage. No sella/paraseellar region. Normal posterior fossa and craniocervical junction.
Comment: focal right temporo-occipital atrophy"
Why not, uh, go to the hospital where you had the MRI done, and ask a neurologist to interpret the findings for you?
@Greg7,
I'm neither neurologist nor MD, but it looks like you had a small stroke at some point of some trauma to the brain... How are your language skills???
