It's nothing personal, it's just all so pointless

The internet in general. I had someone "de-friend" me today on facebook, because she didn't like my attitude to something on another thread, and I realised, that I just did not ******* care. It's all become so completely pointless. So I'm going to reduce facebook down to people that I actually know. I'm NEVER going to go to North America, I'll never meet most of the people, and I just don't see the point any more. So if I disappear off your friends list, it's not because I don't like you anymore. I'm going to concentrate on my family, and on the people that I actually see. There will be a couple of VERY rare exceptions, and as I said, it's not personal at all. After being banned from A2K for 6 months, I voluntarily stayed away for another 5, and my life was actually happier. So goodbye, good luck, hope you're happy, healthy, lucky etc. Bye.

@Wilso,
This makes good sense. Facebook is "social networking," and it makes sense to me that those with whom you have a genuine, social relationship are the ones you can meet face-to-face, and who live on the same continent with you.

However, of course, if you ever do visit North America, you're going to be in deep doo-doo.

@Wilso,
Its so pointless to me that I don't do facebook. I really don't have the time. This is my only odd ball thingy.

What the heck did you do to get kicked off? Not sure what some one could do to get kicked off on here.

@Linkat,
Wilso doesnt suffer fools lightly. He often uses wording and phrases that may be considered off color, as do I. However, I dont capitalize and embolden my "**** yous". Just a possibility.

@Wilso,
You were banned?

I didn't think that happened. You must have been a real bad monkey.

I certainly don't remember you being appreciably worse than many who remain here in good standing.

I know I will never meet all, let alone most of the people in Norway, and yet I hope to visit there someday.

In any case if you were happier when you were off A2K, then I think it's a good idea that you follow your latest instinct.

You may want to consider anger management counseling too.

@Finn dAbuzz,
I believe Wilso refers to the old version of a2k, where numbers of members were banned, most temporarily.

@Rockhead,
There are some who get banned today, but in a different way. One member attacked me and got banned for perhaps a week back then. Today, he could repeat it and not get banned at all. (In this case, we overcame our dispute and today remain good friends).

What constitutes an attack worthy of banning?

I've seen some fairly rough stuff without a ban being imposed.

Fare thee well, Wilso.
You will most likely discover that life goes on after the internet. That wouldn't surprise me at all.
Take extra good care of your most precious assets in this life. Your wife & your beautiful children.
Nothing is more important, more worthy of your love & your attention, than they are.
