In my observations, French tourists in NYC seems to travel in a small, but highly dramatic clique, chattering incessantly as great bon vivants would. Sweater sleeves wrapped around one's neck, making the sweater a sort of mini-cape, there appears to be a great degree of loving life. Either that, or they might feel that they are in a sunrise beach scene, a la A Man and A Woman.
I cannot help but smile when I see them so overflowing with the current moment.
