I'd like some hired help!

Course I might not need it so much if I'd get off the computer.

Nothing material really, thanks, love and friendship are good. And perhaps a new Volvo station wagon in Navy to go with my new (old, but what year) navy Alfa in perfect condition. Plus a new garage. Thank you.

Heeven: glad you got your wish...by the way your holiday earrings are very flattering

cjhsa: looks like you did too

Tex-Star: needs just a little more cash, gold, silver, whatever it takes to buy loved ones more presents. Would settle just to have them here. Times are hard right now...I really hope you get your wish

Letty: glad to hear your son is better (One of the best gifts of all) One of those robotic vacuums would be nice...I got a chance to see The Cat in The Hat movie and he's got a great vacuum cleaner! It literally picks up everything and even strips paint and patches cracks in the wall. You are not odd for not really wanting anything...sounds like you've already got what you wanted.

More champagne for everyone...farmerman, you could use another glass.

Ossobuco: wants some hired help...mmm...I'll put that on my list too. Yeah, I know what you mean...too much time on the computer means your house has been neglected. Love and friendship are good. Hope you get a new Volvo station wagon in Navy to go with your new (old, but what year) navy Alfa in perfect condition. Plus a new garage!

Here's a glass, would you care for some champagne?

2. My car broke down yesterday (that is twice withing the last two months) and like the straw that broke the camels back, I have decided to change it, so I want a new car
3. The wardrobe is looking a bit jaded, so a complete change of wardrobe would also be nice...

Maybe I should just ask for a rich sugar daddy - the rest shall take care of itself then...hmmmm...

Yeah, I want a rich sugar daddy for Christmas.

what kind of PDA and Car did you get?

Hmm, money will do, but seeing as I'm Jewish, Santa will most likely "pass over" me this year. For any other Jews here, happy Chewbacca!

I went to a French site i know of which has links to thousands of old photos--and i was frankly amazed at the number of Grant photos i found, more than one hundred, even eliminating duplications. Unfortunatrely, i could not find the one FM had used in the past:

This one is the classic, probably the most reproduced:

Farmerman, I think, at least initially, all West Point gave its graduates was an engineering degree.

Absolutely true, Acq . . . at graduation, the new officers were given the opportuntity try for the branch of service they most wished to join. Usually, that was the cavalry, with the artillery close behind. No one wanted to be infantry if they could avoid it (Grant couldn't), and only a few eccentrics chose unpopular branches--Lee chose the Corps of Engineers, despite having the second highest academic record at the USMA at that time.

What we think of when we say engineer, and the classic military meaning, are quite different, however.
