White Leather Couches = Barf!

The wife is obsessing over white leather couches.

I'm thinking...I hate the fact that leather furniture does not breath like fabric, and leather furniture is cold in winter and hot in summer. Plus talk about a dumb color...white! As soon as I go near it (if my hands are dirty) it’s going to get messed up.

Maybe there's a synthetic that looks like leather but breathes, and does not get cold in winter and warm in summer, plus cleans up nicely?

White leather in any sort of furniture .... footstools, lamps, etc., would be considered desirable in the Ratzenhofer household.

@gustavratzenhofer,
I recall your leather couch has some black mixed in:

@gustavratzenhofer,
Wasn't me and I would never do white leather. Passe, passe, passe. After Labour Day, of course. Whaddya do, change your couches after that?

What is wrong with white leather? I seriously like the material. I like the way it caresses my skin and ...... I've said too much

@Chumly,
Seriously, they show every bit of dirt and tend to turn yellow over time like old bones. If you have pets the hair really stands out, unless you limit yourself to white pets. What do you want in the way of a couch, Chumly?

Chumly,
Leather breathes but most synthetics do not. Leather is generally wipe clean while some synthetics can not be cleaned under any circumstances.

What style of furniture does she prefer? Frankly, white leather furniture sounds like something a Marilyn-Monroe-wannabe would have had in the late '50s or early 60s. You know, someone like Mamie Van Doren.

What do they make those high-heeled cheerleader boots out of?

@Chumly,
You'll be sorry if you get white leather couches - any leather for that matter.
We once had a beige leather sofa - soft Italian leather, to die for. The minute we were out of the house, our dog scratched the living daylight out of that sofa.
It looked just plain awful in no time, and not the nice antique distressed look
either. Haven't had a leather sofa since.....

I do have an old Churchill leather chair and strangely enough,
the last and current dog leave that one alone.

Interesting. I was watching football on television today. The Vikings prefer white leather furniture in their locker room.

white leather furniture is so late 1970's to me.

like if a guy had that kind of sofa, he also drove a black firebird.

like a "love pit" in Boogie Nights

Am I the only one that remembers love pits?
