OK, follow along with me here. A 'Merican can get a cheap flight to New York, and then pick up a cheap flight to Europe. Or, get a cheap flight to Los Angeles, and pick up a cheap flight to Tokyo or Hong Kong.

Now, certainly, you could get to Hong Kong or Tokyo at a reasonable price. But it can't be cheap to fly from Oz to Europe or North America. So, is this some sort of rite of passage for diggers? Do diggers scrimp and save for years and years to get to Europe? Is this a special aspect of Ozzian culture?

Truth now, Miss Cunning Coney, tell us the truth . . .

@Setanta,
set, you so obfuscate reality, the wabbit engineered her recent travel itinerary for the sole purpose of spending a few days in Albaturkey with the Dys and Diane. the fact that she "traveled the world' to get here is Ozian subterfuge. This should be obvious.

It was obvious to me that was the case.

More Australians travel (per capita) than just about anyone else. Certainly more than Murricans.

There sure must be some scrimpin' and savin' done somewhere.

It's a long way to get to where you are (not where Set is - but Albaturkey and vicinity) and many ways to get there. I'd guess dlowan's method probably cost a shitload - and involved hours on hours of discomfort.

2. I just got a round the world ticket....but man, are my bum and ears hurting. Those 12 and 13 hour flights really suck.

I came home to a speeding fine and all, too.

What crap - you miserable little wretch! Neutral
We just have a much more descriptive and colourful language - and more open minds than you lot. And we're good at expressing ourselves. Twisted Evil Rolling Eyes
