Why is my signature file not showing below my posts

Reply Tue 5 Oct, 2010 09:25 am
As a new subscriber I created a signature file, and selected YES for showing it below my posts. But my posts are shown without the signature. What else should I do?

@kowalskil,
Did you edit that post? It doesn't show if a post is edited, for some technical reason.

@kowalskil,
This is the only post you have. Try another one and see if it shows up.

@kowalskil,
Did you click the "update profile" button on the bottom of the page?

I believe it does not show up in the initial post of a thread, either. Does anyone know for certain if that is so?

I just checked the first five in my list of topics, and my signature line does not appear in any of the initial posts. If Kowalski is starting a series of the threads but not responding in existing threads, his signature line will not appear.

Dear Setanta,

1) Ok, I am replying to see if my signature will appear.

2) Is there a tutorial about how to find information on this website. I am a little disoriented. How are the posts organized?

3) What are differences between forums, topics and threads?

What is in your sig file? It won't post pictures, just a little bit of text.

A forum is a place where similar things are discussed.

A Topic is something that you are discussing, such as 'football' or 'asking A2K questions'

A thread is the line of conversation, i.e., we are currently talking in a thread.

Cyclo has answered most of your questions. As he points out, only 250 characters of text will appear in your signature line--no pix, no links, only text. I don't see a signature line for you, so you might want to go to your profile to make sure that the signature line does not contain any links. When you are satisfied with your text-only signature line, be sure to hit the button at the bottom of the page which is marked "Update Profile."

What i referred to as a topic is what most of us call a thread. I called it a topic because that is the term used in the rubric. If you will look at the top of the page you will see two rubrics entitled "My Topics" and "My posts." My topics means threads which you have started. My posts means threads which others have started, but to which you have replied.

By the way, Kowalski, welcome to Able2Know. Do not be deceived, i am one rude son-of-a-bitch overflowing with evil intent. I'm just laying for you, eagerly awaiting the opportunity to jump you for a trivial error when you least expect it.

Have a nice day.

ARE you a genetic cross among a koho salmon, a walleye, and a muskie?

@Setanta,
yes but the kid is under 60 so its fresh to him. Creativity is not necessarilly making it up fresh , it also includes copying the obscure.
