Butrflynet picked the first mini watermelon from our garden today. It was very juicy and full of seeds. The little rascal vine spread for at lease 15 feet in the good composted soil.
Have you ever grown watermelons in your garden? Try it, you will like them.

the farmer behind us grew watermelons and pumpkins a few years back, the next spring a vine sprouted in one of our back gardens, i wished for watermelon, but got two very nice pumpkins instead

My mother told me, when I was a small child, that if I swallowed the watermelon seeds, they would grow out of my ears. I probably will have to prune them back before the season ends.
