Should burning it be the topic of 50% of the new threads?

@edgarblythe,
If that's what the near majority wants, I guess so.

@roger,
I believe, after reading honkeye earlier, that a majority would be 51%.

What the majority wants? Have the media been producing polls as to what the majority actually wants to hear?

The majority of my multiple personalities wants to talk about art and movies. Only one out of ten wants to talk about flame broiled scriptures.

@thack45,
I was speaking of the NEAR majority of a2k members starting threads. Did you really not understand that? If, as stated in the OP, that 50% of new threads dealt with the burning of the koran, does it not follow that 50% of the people starting threads actually want such threads? It's almost a tautology, if you get my drift.

Let's take a poll. How many think they owe it to a2k to open one thread apiece on the topic?

@edgarblythe,
I think the most of the people should learn to use the Google search function of the site or hit Control F and let their browser search at least the latest 2 or 3 of the most current pages in the New Post section to see if a particular topic is peculating in the a2k coffee pot.

Snacking chips, she notices

we have a twit looking for prominance, even threatening world-like power.
No one can shut him down, due to various historic amendments.

Pass the salt and vinegar chips.... no, not you, roger,

@ossobuco,
It's a legitimate question on the recent activity of the members of a2k and their seeming lack of internet sophistication in terms of understanding basic unwritten forum rules on topics du jour.

It's a thread written out of mild frustration I suppose. Can't most of these thread writers see that there are at least a half dozen variations of the same thread active this week? Or is this a recent glitch in the a2k custom search engine?

Then again, we could start 6 dozen threads on 9/11 since it's that certain allegedly important anniversary of some event I can't remember that happened on that day ... I suppose. Rolling Eyes

@tsarstepan,
There's an easy answer --- close to no one, and I mean very close, as in nobody, ever checks out if a subject has been talked about before on a2k. There are past subjects here, some well written about, but it is all dross.

Don't get me going. I'm working out a weave of dross and floss.

This is also true re books.

@ossobuco,
Elaborating, really no one - or almost no one - checks back on past threads.

Certainly no newbie asking about twaddle does, when we may have elaborate past history talking about twaddle. All they would have to do is look up the word.

No newbie has any sense of how to look anything on a2k up. Nor do many a2kers.

It's all very strange as so many promote themselves as internet savvy.

That was an embarrassing oversight. My mistake.
