Comments (0) Add to My Stories Britain's biggest chemist plans to sell the morning after pill on the internet.
Teenagers could buy the emergency contraceptive from the Boots website without seeing a doctor or pharmacist.
It is feared this will fuel promiscuity among young girls, who unknown to their parents will be able to keep a supply in their bedroom.
And because it will encourage unprotected sex, it risks adding to the epidemic of sexually transmitted diseases among the under-25s.

A lot of teenagers are already having sex. The reason it is easier for young girls to get the pill is because it's a solution to a problem, that is high rates of teenage pregnancies. You'll find the ones that are against the pill being so easily available are the ones who have a problem that teenagers are actually sexually active. What person in their right mind thinks that someone will have sex based on the availability of the pill, teenagers are already and it's only being responsible that they are educated in safer sex and contraception is easily available to prevent the high numbers of teenage pregnancies.
I for one hope that the pill being available will reduce teenage pregnancies in the UK because we have the highest rate, the pill is only a responsible solution to this, people think it encourages them to have sex need to check out the facts because it's irresponsible not to give them protection from unwanted pregnancies.
I do wonder why some are so against when it is clear from the evidence they need contraception, it's just being dam irresponsible not giving girls the pill because they have weird ideas such as increases promiscuity, based on what evidence? none! I can only conclude that these people cannot accept that their kids are sexually active, it's all very backward.
Teenagers need education on how to protect themselves from stds, by providing condoms and knowledge, is that encouraging them to have sex, of course not, young people have sex generally because they want to, be real and be responsible instead unproven rubbish that it encourages them, that's not helping the problem at all, the problem exists and not educating them and not providing contraception does not help the problems of stds and unwanted pregnancies, it's irresponsible.
How does an intelligent young person decide to have sex because there's a pill available? Have you met teenagers, they do what they want regardless. You are merely providing them stuff they do need for sex they are already having, at least educate them so they can protect there health and provide free contraception to prevent unwanted babies and abortion.
Health and responsible sex is all you are teaching them, arguing that it encourages promiscuity is ill informed, just check out high the stats are on unwanted teenage pregnancies. These kids are not ready to be parents and that has a damaging effect on their lives and their kids lives. The pill being available is a solution to a problem and how can that be bad, sorry but anything else is being irresponsible to our kids. They need education and free contraception because they are obviously already having sex.
