Oh comon Montana, you're sayin' you never participated in a spontaneous, anonymous, gang bang in a tub of jello and fruit loops?

What a boring life.

[COLOR="Dark blue] Wow, how did this end up here? I suppose it's allied to TV.

As a teacher, it constantly astonishes me what my students are regularly watching. They have often been exposed to far more explicit stuff (video, internet ..) than the many of the adults around them

My take on this is that if parents talk enough to their kids about relationships and sex then they know that what they see on tv or the internet is not how they should behave in real life. I don't stop my son from watching anything on tv or limit his access on the internet because we have always talked about the right and wrongs in life and he knows the difference. We have talked about the difference between sex and making love, so if he sees porn he knows that this is not the way he treats a woman. In any case, I think if parents take the time to constantly talk with their kids about these things, then they know that what they find on tv and the internet is simply entertainment and nothing more. My sons values and morals are very well intact, so obviously the tv and internet hasn't had this effect on him. Unfortunately, not all parents think to cover those bases and the sex ed in school is bogus because they don't cover the relationship part of it, which is the most important part of making love.

I agree word for word with your ideals, Montana, but most parents are not as good as you are, which is a shame. That's why some kids shouldn't be allowed to watch this kind of tripe, especially at young ages, as they'll have no one to contradict TV's idea of a relationship. People think that thrashy and sexually easy will lead to getting the guy, which is awful!

Unfortunately, if the parents don't care enough to take the time to educate their kids on on the important things in life such as sex, love, drugs, and violence, then I can't see them caring enough to control what they are watching on tv or the net. It's just so easy to take just a few minutes a day to talk to your kids, so I wonder why so many parents don't. I just don't get it.

Thanks for bringing such a good topic into discussion dr om. Does the dr in your name stands for Doctor? Only if you do not mind me asking.

I beg to differ, the few minutes we would take to give them the facts will not amount to anything when they see above mentioned shows because the seduction is ample in those.

I also do not agree that Indian kids are watching a more refined version of what we have in US. Sorry Shaji it is not personal but I think EVIL is EVIL is EVIL. Romantisization ( is that a real world) is the worse form of presenting anything. I support NO screen days in our home on weekdays. Weekends they have one hr each day but that includes any video games or family movie watching.

There is more research on evil effects of screen . It is anaesthesia for brain. I wouyld worry about not onluy character but also halted brain developement.
