Using US digital piano in Germany (60Hz vs 50Hz)

I am moving to Germany and wonder if my US digital piano (Yamaha YDP-160, working on 120V 60W 60Hz) will work properly in Germany when using a step-down transformer that converts 220-240V to 110-120V (for example http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2285470&filterName=Category ). In other words, can the 50Hz of the European net damage the piano or affect the sound?

Thanks,
Stijn

@serwoods1,
If the YDP-160 uses a modern switch-mode power supply then both the frequency and voltage can vary a fair amount with no problem.

It has a Yamaha supplied AC adapter, for US the PA-150, for Europe you can get one for European voltages, the PA-5D.

@contrex,
The thing of it is, it could well be the same AC adapter the only difference being the plug end configuration, You see, due to the flexibility of switch-mode power supplies both the frequency and voltage can vary a fair amount with no problem.

@serwoods1,
How did this work out for you? I would like to bring my Yamaha P60 from America to Germany?

It has a model PA-5D Yamaha External AC Power Adaptor
Input: AC120V 60Hz 30W
Output: DC12V 1.5A

Thanks so much if you can reply.

All the best,

- Dan
