@lorrainedon63,
I'm confused by your contrary description of a "link detached". What exactly do you mean? How can it be both linked and detached?

Before I can give you a site t0 read, I need to know if your home is in a homeowners association. If so, do you have the bylaws? What state do you live in?

@BumbleBeeBoogie,
linked detached houses are ones that the walls of the house are not touching but the wall to their garage is.
Part of my house wall is in their garden as the houses are set back slightly it is this wall that has been painted and they have been chipping out the wall to channel a wire in to power a water feature.

@lorrainedon63,
Why would you object to them painting their side of the shared wall?

@DrewDad,
If I understand the description, the wall belongs to the poster's house - thus the neighbor is drilling into their house wall, besides painting it. On the other hand, I may misunderstand.

I'd call the local department of building and safety and ask them.

@lorrainedon63,
I think if was irresponsible for your neighbors to paint the wall without discussing it with you and asking for your permission. They were stupid not to do it. Something like that is what starts bad feelings between neighbors.

Your description sounds like you live in a town house. You didn't answer my question about is your home in a homeowners' association and if so, what's in the bylaws. That important to consider that remedy.

I think that the all confusions must be rolled over if they are getting the permission to make you secure and think that what they are going to suggest you best and best.

@lorrainedon63,
Yes you can obviously paint your side of the wall and can even drill it without harming the other side of the wall but I think you may consult your issues with your neighbor and solve out the issue.
