I'd never even heard the Bobby Beausoleil story - can't believe all my cool Velvet Underground/Tangerine Dream/Fripp and Eno loving mates never mentioned the music or the story...

This is embarrassing. I bought Trans Europe Express in 1977 (thus being linked to the birth of rap/hip hop). Have only just heard this track off Kraftwerk's first album. Freaking amazing. The sounds! Sampled flute before there were samples. How far ahead of your time is it possible to be?

More on the strange side - Danielle Dax is a relatively new thing to me, known about her for ages, but never really followed up by listening. Just love the web. And lists.

I used to be huge on Dead Can Dance - Amazon used to recommend Vas a lot because of the high ratings I gave DCD albums, this just turned up on shuffle. Noice.

I'd often wondered why more bands didn't mine Pink Floyd territory, I guess they do I just don't hear them. This is nearly twenty years old and I've only just found it....

I don't where I got it from but have Harry Thumann's Andromeda album - I have never heard of him, but I really should have - he sounds like the love child of Trevor Horn and Joe Satriani - very 80s but oddly cool...

Found this on Jamendo (free and legal) based in Lille, France and mining similar territory to DJ Shadow's Endtroducing
