Lovetts

Well, I think (and I don't get the magazines but I do other crossword puzzles - NY Times, Boston Globe and Games Magazine) sometimes people just get stuck. And sometimes it's the simplest thing but it just throws the whole thing off. Like, let's say the clue was card game and you wrote WAR but the answer was really SET. It would throw off everything, no?

I figure it's little harm to help people out a little but like I said I don't get the magazines so of course I don't guess if it's impossible from the clues or minimal hints given from the asker (e. g. what's 5 Down? Me: I dunno). If someone asks me, what's 10 Across, it's 5 letters and the clue is 50s flop, I'll say EDSEL and move on without worrying about it further.
