One of the best bass riffs around, on a par with Entwistle.
BTW, this is the group that made the rock and roll anthem 'Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll' a big hit.
I get a bloodlust when I see a slug bust
Hit your mug with a .38 snub and watch the blood rush
Nothings above us, ya’ll better back off
Cos you a devil like the Canaanite in Sackcloth
We busting Gats off
It’s a clean kill
It doesn’t seem real when your spleen spill
So listen to what im spittin at y’all
La illaha, il Allah il Allah

Loose Fit Mix - 1989-1990
Hard to believe this stuff is now 17-18 years old, most of it still sounds as fresh now as it did back then. Of course The Stone Roses, Happy Mondays and Charlatans need no introduction. I have included some bands that seemed to adopt a similiar sound to the music coming out of NW England at that time - i.e. Soup Dragons, Primal Scream, Trash Can Sinatra's even World Party and the genuis that was The Hollow Men. Also included are the lesser known gems such as the brilliant Spinnning Jenny's, My Jealous God and the brilliant wah-wah of 35 Summers. The mix while not strictly "baggy" is a good snap shot of what some of the best bands in Britain were doing around this era. Hope you enjoy!
Loose Fit 1989 -1990
1. Box Set Go - The High
2. Can U Dig It? - The Mock Turtles
3. Moody Places - Northside
4. Loose Fit [12" Mix] - Happy Mondays
5. Supermarine - The Spinning Jenny's
6. Lovegod - The Soup Dragons
7. It's On - Flowered UP
8. Taurus Moaner - The Charlatans
9. Circling The Circumference - Trash Can Sinatras
10. Groovy Train - The Farm
11. Come Together - Primal Scream
12. Move - Inspiral Carpets
13. Vanishing Point - New Order
14. Way Down Now - World Party
15. Come Home - James
16. Don't You Know - The Honey Turtles
17. November Comes [12" Mix] - The Hollow Men
18. Pray [Edit] - My Jealous God
19. I Didn't Try [12" Mix] - 35 Summers
20. I Am The Resurrection - The Stone Roses
Is that the same Northside that did 'Take 5' - I bought that single, probably the only copy that ever sold in Australia. Good to see Inspiral Carpets get a mention, I've got a lot of their stuff - and World Party and James are also objects of my affection.
I'm currently suffering through AC/DC's 'Who Made Who'. Windows Media Player is a harsh mistress.

then that one made me think of this one which I was listening to alot at about the same time by Dave Mason - but I couldn't find it by him, I found it by these guys though and they do pretty amazing close harmonies - all the way through to the second to last note (yikes) but it makes you realize how many talented normal people there are out there:
