Might be, it is just my impression. Might be, it's just here in Germany or Europe:
but I have the sincere impression
- to have heard most actual/popular songs already years ago,
- to have worn the 'new' addidas shoe 30 years ago,
- to have seen this film and that book was just another title.
And I wonder, too, why my wife and my sister gave all their old clothes from their school time to these young girl.
Anyone sharing my views?
Walter- I think that we are both getting older. What I have found, is that things cycle over time. If you wait long enough, what is obsolete now, will be popular again.
I know what Walter means. I'm (relatively) young at 27, but have already lived through both the 80's and the current 80's revival. It hardly seems as if something is dead before they're bringing it back to life again. In music, the trend seems to be around 10 years or so.
I just heard the new Elvis song - I could really imagine that some kids are asking for his next live performance.
Yes Walter, "Life is Xerox."
My daughter listens to the radio and sings along to the songs. She gives me a look like...this is a new song and I know all the words...and I say...sorry to burst your bubble honey, I know all the words too, that song was written 30 years ago.
I wore bell bottom pants, hip huggers, mini skirts, hot pants, and I still wear jeans. Kids today think it's all brand new and just for them.

Whaaaaat? Me too????
This had me roaring with laughter !!!!
Well, to kids it IS all new. <sigh> I find I have the same feelings though, even here on A2K, when someone recommends their favorite band, and I check them out, and it's all the same old crap rehashed and repackaged, but what are you going to do? Personally, I can't wait for senility, so everything can be new to me too.
Right, cav, and then those re-re-re-recordings ... .
Will think about your idea re senility
