POTW: Immigration Bill is Dead, what do you think?

I think this is bad

While I would prefer a bill without amnesty I also realize that playing hide and go seek with 20 million people is a joke and actually attempting that would cost far to much tax money.

I believe this died simply because it would kill cheap illegal labor and those who do the hiring and have the money want labor they can get below minimum wage. Not only should we be raiding businesses for illegals we should be arresting anyone hiring them and go as far up the chain as the corruption goes.

My other big concern is how having 20million new social security recipients will effect our system. Social Security cannot sustain itself at the current rate, with 20 million people claiming against it your shooting holes in a slow sinking ship.

The obvious solution to this would be to put private accounts into social security, but unfortunate personal responsibility for retirement is still seen as "unfair" in America...

The bill was a scam. We already have laws that forbid illegal entry, and we already have plans for a fence, and stronger border patrol, and guest workers. Illegals don't want to put the effert in to do it right, and our government doesn't want to chase them down and enforce our already existing laws. There's no need for a bill to tell us we can do, what we can already do, and give amnesty to 20 million criminals.

Did you see the Sheriff in Ohio who's sending bills to the federal government to pay for jailing illegals until they pass reforms?
