POTW: Who's defunding the war?

So with a mandatory time line for withdrawal, and 24 billion in non war related spending otherwise known as pork. The new emergency war bill will hit the President's desk Tuesday morning. The White house has said it's "DOA".

Military deployments have already been increased to cut down on logistical spending. But it's only a matter of time before this fight over funding affects what the military refers to as the three B's (beads, beans and bullets).

So, who's fault is it that our military is forced to go without because of bureaucracy?

@Silverchild79,
The Democrats need to send a clean bill to the White House that will fund the troops , then fight it out over the deadline , it is as simple as that , but they know they can't get a timeline passed alone.

@Silverchild79,
This has to be an open ended war, IMO. The Dems don't accept that.

@Silverchild79,
The thing that kills me is that all the Dems yell "Vietnam, Vietnam"

well after we left in Vietnam MILLIONS were killed. Our presence, while a difficult task, was the only thing that kept it from happening.

Same thing is going on in Iraq, same thing will happen if we leave. The Dem's don't want to address that little problem. Leaving will leave a much worse footprint on the world for the US then staying until it's completed.

Getting out now is the easy thing to do for America, but it will hurt Iraq. That kind of behaivor after we've commited to them is the kind of "America is better then the world so we can do what suits us" attidute that I depise.

All WMD aside Iraq was taken out of Tyranny and has a real chance to live free, that's a noble enough cause to stay IMO

@Silverchild79,
How about which risk will be greatest if we leave, something like Sunni terrorists, Iran-influenced Shia, or no large risk at all?

Oh yeah, and you can't forget the Kurds. Very Happy

@Silverchild79,
I'm don't think that's a matter of opinion, the Sunni and Kurds are minorities and the Shia were oppressed under Saddam, some of the Shia sects seek revenge.

@Silverchild79,
It can be a matter of opinion. Maybe I didn't explain enough?

Shia: Will the Shia be influenced by Iran too much, causing them to be the greatest threat to America?

Sunni: Will they open the gates for al-Quaeda to come in more, causing them to be the greatest threat to America?

Kurds: Will their fight for independence cause a mess with Turkey, causing them to be the greatest threat to stability?

Or none of these situations would be that bad for America.

Something like that.
