Has Anyone Ever Read a Book?

So, thought it would be interesting to find out what sorts of books and what authors people read (nonpolitical). You know, give people a fuller view of what you're like.

I like thrillers, personally. Working through one of John Grisham's books now. Too bad he's a liberal, he's a good author.

@Reagaknight,
Good book, if I recall. Downright depressing when the dogs died.

@Reagaknight,
Over Christmas break, I read half of Che Guevara's Reminiscences of the Cuban Revolutionary War, and half of Pope John Paul II's Rise, Let us Be on Our Way.

@Reagaknight,
I just finished "Something of Value" by Robert Ruark, about the MauMau uprising in Kenya in the 1950's.

Fine, fine, fine. Laughing

No. I am not. I'm simply driven by a fascination about how things work.

I'm a different breed of human. I used to read encyclopedias as a kid for fun.

Thank you for admitting your early reading of encyclopedias. My family had two sets of different encyclopedias and I read them whenever I had an hour to spend indoors due to weather or having a cold when I was a kid. I read so much I had to get glasses for a while to rest my eyes and train them to focus on small print. I've never admitted it to anyone before.

I can't imagine not having those books as teachers - they peaked my interest in so many things unanswered, I have been inquisitive ever since because of them.
