Rain

The sound of weeping rain
it's grasp is ever present
flooding over my endless pain
calling me out of the midst
of loneliness and despair
into a downpour of joy

I feel the cool water
streaming down
embracing my soul
and i feel strangely renewed
as it quenches my thirst
I feel life again
to all that once was dead
I feel peace again
to all that once was suffering

The mist it washes away this scum
and wretchedness
of the eternal desert
it kisses my dry lips
and makes me whole again

The rain it makes old breath new
and alive again
the trees rejoice
as the birds once more make song
and a smile spreads across
my now youthful face
as the rain fills my soul
and i drift into peaceful sleep
for the very first time

sleep. rain. sing.

Is it really necessary to copyright the poem?

It seemed a sad human condition what the poet wrote about. And also refreshing for the human condition.

It makes it easier to say it is yours if you copyright it. But there are other ways of proving it is yours, it just takes longer that way.

By-the-way like the poem. Very misty.

I don't know how it works in the USA, but in Canada, all intellectual property is automatically copywritten once in print. For example, if somebody read a poem of mine here, and then tried to publish it, all I would have to do is find my post, with the original date, to prove it was my work, and that I wrote it first.

Same here. It is just easier to get it copyrighted because it is legal proof.

I have my reasons for copy writing, (i don't think i have to explain the details) i was in another forum that even did it automaticly every time I posted a write, and mainly i think it is a good habit to get into. ...maybe in this forum i'll just copy write using my s/n. anywho, thanx for the compliments Ruach and BlueMonkey =).
