Talk Radio

I have been wondering if any of us listen to Talk Radio at all . Whether Conservative or Liberal , doesn't matter .
I listen to the local NPR station on weekends and catch some of their viewpoint .
Commuting , I generally listen to a local conservative host in the morning , and Hannity , then Savage in the PM .
I used to listen to Limbaugh when I was driving trucks , but I did get tired of the same old ego-stroking from the "Golden Microphone " .
If you do listen , what do you get from it ? Good or bad ?

Further question - why can't Liberals get enough audience to keep a nationwide talk show on the air? Witness Air America .

@Curmudgeon,
I used to listen to Limbaugh and Hannity, but not anymore.

Schedule changed.

@Curmudgeon,
I never was a radio person to begin with. I don't even listen to music on the radio. Whenever I go with my Dad anywhere he usually has talk radio on though. Whether it be Hannity or Limbaugh. Must say I am sick of Hannity.

What did I get out of it? I got to hear a very one sided view of politics. Just never appealed to me. They had their good points and I could use a little more Hillary Clinton bashing every now and then but I believe that America does not need anymore Hannity and Limbaughs, they need more people that look out for us instead of look out for their party.

Just my .02

@Curmudgeon,
I agree , we have enough Limbaugh and Hannity . What about Michael Savage ? He is certainly not enamored of Bush , but very conservative to say the least . Also (if possible ) more egotistic than Limbaugh !
I guess my biggest question is : where is the equivalent from the Liberal side ?
I am not espousing either viewpoint , I just wonder why Liberals can't succeed the way the Conservative talk shows have .

@Curmudgeon,
I like Michael Savage. The liberals? They are too worried about making Bush look bad at any expense to be able to hold good ratings. America is sick of Bush bashing and that is all they bring to the table.

I couldn't agree more.

I like Michael Savage as well. Altho I can't say that I think he's always impartial in his views, I do think he's the more impartial of any talk show host I've listened to yet

I get a sense of general morality. A good in my definition. It goes along with the second part of your question too. The reason the left doesn't have a good audience is because no one want to hear it, IMO. They can try to mimic the right, but as there shining example has shown. You will not make it profitable to do so. You may end up having to pilfer from a charity org to stay alive. The majority likes it voice on the radio and they listen. Where as the left for the most part can't stand themselves, therefore don't listen or patronize them. IMO of course.

That is where the problems start. IMO Party affiliation has something to do with it but if you need some one to fight for you, you eventually will get burned. Setting yourself up for a fall in other words. There are those that fall close to my ideoligy but i never count on them for my sucess. In the political or social arena. Politisions will do what there good at, politicing.
