Because of the historical MAGNITUDE of this decision qua the Bill of Rights,
I 'd expect Roberts to do it, but I defer to the wisdom of SCOTUSBLOG's analysis
of last Thursday morning which predicted that it will be Alito.

Its a GOOD thing.

When Justice Alito was on the bench of the US Circuit Court of Appeals,
he wrote a dissenting opinion that every American citizen has a Constitutional Right to own a machinegun. He 's my kind of guy.

I expect that he will write the decision to express and manifest as much freedom as the other Justices will allow him to do.

I 'm having trouble getting thru to SCOTUSBLOG.

It will be interesting to see how the liberals voted on the new question, presently before the Court,
of whether the 2nd Amendment applies against the States; if not, then Y not, according to the left ??

Remember, this is not re-litigating HELLER.

I got through to scotusblog ok. They don't have the dissenting opinion by Justice Stevens up yet.

They are reporting that Justice Ginsburg's husband passed away yesterday.

Thay mentioned that their biggest day ever
(before today) was decision day for HELLER: over 300,000 hits on their site.

I have the McDONALD decision n I 've colored it up,
as is my wont, to indicate the juicy parts for future reference.

Let me guess... Now U want armored cars with guns... Tanks ! That will solve traffic jams I suppose. Maybe - just an idea - US citizens could by their own yet-fighters as we should do in Europe. Well, The Netherlands would probably end up with German zeppelins because of economic reasons and because they are our neighbours.
