Identify This Pearl Necklace Style

I have a pink pearl necklace just like this one, only there is no clasp. You are suppose to "tie" it around your neck. It's about two feet long and like I said, looks exactly like this one without the V and the clasp.

What is the style of such a necklace? I got it a long time ago as a gift from someone who'd been in China. I have never worn it (just not my style) and would like to sell it. I need to do some research on it first to see if it's worth my time but I can't find even one similar necklace.

Any ideas?

I did some poking around on Google. It's a V-shape necklace.

Here's another similar one:

Mine doesn't have the V. It's just a straight, flat, length of pearls.

@Bella Dea,
pearl collar?

pearl rope?

Is it one of the lengths that you can buy and then add your own clasp to?

is it long enough to be a lariat-style?

@ehBeth,
It's about two feet long. I don't think you can add a clasp.

How are the pearls connected> Are they on some kind of backing? Hard to nail this down without the V. Still looking.

Using the terms woven pearl necklace tie, I found this item with the description:

Elaborate hand woven belt tie, with high quality white round pearls. It includes a white round pearl tassel, which can be worn with the tied knot at different positions.

Bella, Butrfly is on target. Without the word "tie," you get a plain woven pearl necklace. The one below is a choker, but yours is just a necklace:

Ok so here's a photo of it. You can put it on as a choker and tie in back. Or tie in front. I've never seen anything like it.

I am fairly certain they are real. I did the "rub" test and rubbed two of the pearls together and they made a powder but didn't scratch. Also, they are not perfectly round and are slightly different sized. There is probably close to 1000 pearls in this necklace, each being about 2-3mm in size. I am curious to know the value of it but can't even find anything like it to start comparing. And I don't want to pay for an appraisal that might be more expensive than the jewelery itself. Don't know much about pearls.

@Bella Dea,
Bella, You need to know what kind of pearls they are. "Real" can mean a number of things in the pearl world. Are they natural pearls? Cultured? Freshwater? Size is an issue. So are color and luster.

The necklace is a beauty, btw.

@Bella Dea,
I used to have a necklace similar to that except it had a loop of the woven pearls at the ends that you fastened together with a clasp. It looked as if it were made to be worn as either a belt or a necklace. I think they're what is known as seed pearls.

The string on mine broke apart one day at work and I had pearls flying everywhere!

@Butrflynet,
Ah ha! Using the term seed pearl in the search came up with a better candidate:

Does the above answer sound vaguely familiar?

@Bella Dea,
Pearl necklaces in particular have always been coveted by women for their natural beauty and luster.
