I live in NJ and am attempting to purchase a Sapphire and Diamond tennis bracelet for an anniversary gift. The piece I have my eye on is 14 kt gold with 6.5 ct of natural sapphire and .32 ct diamond. The sticker price is $2500 and I have talked the jeweler down to $2100 and he won't budge further. Similar local jewellers for less ct sapphire are priced at no less than $4000. The sapphire clarity looks good but I am not an expert. My question is do you think I have found a decent deal or am being swindled? Can the quality of natural sapphires in this price range vary this greatly? And if so is it obvious to the naked eye? Any advice would be very appreciated.

50% off sounds like an unrealistic bargain. If he would make a profit at that price, that means the other jewelers would make at least 100% profit. I don't believe that either.
