I still have not figured out why anything I record from this program has this metallic sound. It's driving me crazy.

I just opened a .wma music file in my Adobe Audition Program and it is playing perfectly. I obviously have something somewhere set incorrectly but I can't figure it out.

@Arella Mae,
Are you recording from a microphone?

@DrewDad,
Yes and it is the same microphone I was using before. If I talk into the microphone myself the metallic sound is not as pronounced nor quite as garbled. If I record from say a chatroom, it is garbled and metallic. It used to record perfectly clear no matter what I was recording.

I found this site about Adobe Audition and recording and left a comment hoping someone there can tell me what my problem is. I am sure I just have something set incorrectly or checked that shouldn't be. I just don't know enough about recording to figure it out.

@Arella Mae,
Could be that the compression level is set too high. I'm not really sure, though.

@DrewDad,
Okay what does that mean and maybe I can find it and change it?

Well, I went out and bought an expensive microphone thinking maybe that was my problem. It seems to have made a slight difference but not enough.
