You have several problems here. One is that you assume that Mary somehow possessed the boy Jesus, and had any control over where he went or what he did. By Jewish law, Joseph owned the boy--both Mary and Joshuah (which is what Jesus means, in case you didn't know) were his chattels. So the proposition that Mary made any kind of sacrifice is ludicrous. Just because some joker told you that doesn't make it so.
But you have a deeper problem here, and that is your apparent assumption that Jesus ever actually existed. He may have, but there's not a shred of proof for the contention. Two thousand years ago, Palestine was probably crawling with carpenters and/or rabbis named Joshuah.
