NIGELLA'S SECRET RECIPE FOR TONY AND GEORGE

LONDON (Reuters) - It's one of the country's most closely guarded state secrets, but the answer may well turn out to be "happiness soup".

Celebrity chef and self-styled "domestic goddess" Nigella Lawson will be in the kitchen when Prime Minister Tony Blair (news - web sites) and his wife Cherie host George and Laura Bush for lunch on Thursday.

But if anybody does know what will be on the menu, the lid is being kept firmly in place.

Her "happiness soup", made from yellow squash, could be just the thing to distract the president and the prime minister from the tens of thousands of protesters vowing to take to the streets during the presidential visit.

"She isn't making any comment or giving any interviews. I'm afraid you will have to ask Number 10," her publicist said referring to the prime minister's London office at 10 Downing Street.

"Unfortunately we haven't confirmed the diary for Thursday, so I'm afraid we are not able to help," a spokeswoman there said.

Lawson -- a permanent TV fixture with a figure she acknowledges has been made more curvaceous by her trademark penchant for "comfort food" -- has more recently broken through on the other side of the Atlantic.

The author of "How To Be a Domestic Goddess" writes a column for the New York Times.

Lawson should have no trouble finding her way around Blair's kitchen. Blair, who found 10 Downing Street a bit cramped, lives next door at number 11, where Nigella's father Lord Lawson lived when he was Chancellor of the Exchequer in the 1980s.
