The city we were looking for is Peoria, Illlinois.

It's, indeed, a peaceful place.

For those interested, some links about the place and people. One of these is Philip José Farmer, the well-known SF writer.

City of Peoria

Let Dagmaraka post us a picture. Her efforts to find the place are meritorious (thanks the others also).

I can post, I am ready. And I am almost certain it is Budapest, but I can wait. Or should I post? I waited yesterday and I waited too long. Hmmm... Well, I'll be here for a few hours, so I'll check back.

It's the Parliament. I should know, I got lost in there once. they have the same room numbers on each floor. And let me tell you, in the summer you will not find a living soul. I wondered through for 45 minutes, not meeting a live creature!!! 45 minutes. then i found a sleeping clerk in the Foreign Affairs Committee. There were prepared confidential materials on the roundtable for the MPs, I could have easily walked off with them. Enough ranting. here it comes.

The second one relates to the founding mythology of this nation. These obelisks were split because of the greed of two sons. There was a spirit living in one of the rocks that multiplied the food put onto it every night. Two sons of the parents that used to come to the rock both wanted the rock to themselves. Because of their greed the parents chased the spirit away by pouring boiling water and putting rotten food on the rock. When the spirit left, the rock split into many and this nation dispersed into many tribes.

This is a chief of one of the tribes. Their attire differs from tribe to tribe, usual combination is black and red.

Probably it's Nagaland in the Northeastern part of India.
The hint was the shape of the hairdress which the chief was wearing.

Ohhhh, you're no fun, satt. It was supposed to be much more difficult. Then again, I did post about my upcoming trip to Nagaland, so I should have expected it will be a piece of cake. Oh well. Your turn again.
