Netflix helped me rediscover my tv, in a way. . . I lost all my favorite cable channels and gave up for awhile. . . but they have EVERYTHING, it seems. And my list of "Movies I Just Have to See" is mostly now depleted.

STILL doesn't make up for the Food Network. . .

I wish I could find the uninterrupted hours to watch movies.

<sigh>

Still, I think TV has a lot to offer for both education and entertainment. In the best cases they combinde the two. I love that show "Unwrapped" where they show how food is made. I love those "Behind the Music" bios of VH!.

While I don't consider myself a TV junkie I enjoy TV when I get the chance and I almost always find something interesting to see.

To me, giving up TV would be hard.

I used to love Behind the Music. . . imagine my surprise when I ventured over to vh1's website to see "Celebrate the return of Behind the Music with Britney Spears: Behind the Music!"

Imagine. Return. Britney Spears.

I have to admit that I watch entirely too much tv. I'm alone at night and it keeps me company. I'm addicted to all of the Trading Spaces-type and gardening shows like Homefront in the Garden. Always watch CSI, Sopranos, K-Street, the Daily show. God...I'm wasting my life...

Well, if I could do a Kurasawa binge (and other valuable binges) I might change my tune, but I can't right now.

Plus, y'know, not to pump a2k, but I have semi engaged in some philosophy threads, and am learning a lot. There is some good writing here from various sides of various spectra - it engages me, whether or not I actually post.

I like quite a bit of tv, comedy channel and hbo series and comedy stuff, but mostly my pornographic dvd's and vhs tapes would be useless without a tv.

Ditto on the uninterrupted hours, boomer. I'm SO behind on my movie-watching. Three years behind, to be almost exact. (Interruptor's b'day coming right up.)

Osso, yeah, the interactivity thing is what I really like about spending time online vs. TV, even if it is looking at a glowing rectangular screen either way.

Swimpy, yeah, I had a little "eek" moment when I got addicted to "Paradise Hotel." (Speaking of interactive... Rolling Eyes) I don't know if the non-TV stuff I do instead is so wonderful. I think there is value in the just vegging thing. I'd come home from work in L.A. after a really emotionally exhausting day, slump on the couch, turn on "Blind Date", and laugh at stupid idiotic people who I didn't have to care about for a while. It did help.

I don't watch very much tv, but I do like having it there whenever I'm in the mood.

I watched so much TV as a kid I guess I lost interest in it. However, I do rent movies often.
