Well this clown obviously did with a passion that took his sense beyond reason, consider this, mr clown is two away from a million, he has a cheque for £250,000 in his hand.
The £500,000 question is, what is the height of an oscar statuette:
A 8½inches
B 11 inches
C 13½inches
D 16 inches
He reasons ( as I did) that 8½ is too small, and 16 is too big, so, making it clear that he didn't know the answer he guessed at answer B and threw away £218,000 (about $350,000
Can you imagine anybody being dumb enough to risk that kind of money on what was basically a 50/50 chance.
Can I imagine? yes, of course :-) you see it all the time on millionaire. . .
