@OmSigDAVID,
Glad to see you posting again David. Moving house can be a very stressful experience, I would recommend waiting until you've fully recovered from your injuries.

Also from my limited knowledge of real estate, it's fairly stagnant right now, and tends to pick up in the Spring.

@OmSigDAVID,
Fire? Oh no!
How serious are the burns? How much did you lose?

@Eva,
All I know is that David classed the fire as 'severe,' he is using a different computer, and has difficulty typing, so don't expect a lengthy reply.

@Eva,
He pmd me a few days ago. I don't normally disclose the content of pms but in this case I don't think he'll mind as he's already posted about the fire, and that's all the fire related info I have.

Let's just wish him a speedy recovery.

@OmSigDAVID,
David, I hope all turns out okay after this incident. Why FL? They have other natural disasters that can be worse than the "residential fire" you just had.

Of course, I've already responded with a PM to your PM, David; but I'll also say publicly that I hope you have a speedy recovery from your burns.

My THANKS to each of u for your expressed good wishes.
I expect full recovery from hand burns.
Gun collection got a little rusty n discolored.

I am thinking of selling my real estate in NY
and moving to Florida, away from hurricane traffic,
because I have good friends & family there.

@OmSigDAVID,
Sorry for your accident. I hope your hands heal quickly and painlessly.

I moved to FL from upstate NY. My reasons were due to the bad weather, all those recurrent ice storms and bitter cold. However, I would say the FL west coast here up by Sarasota is a better risk than the east coast, but is by far not at low risk from those pesky tropical storms and hurricanes.

What you will have is far more warm sunshine on a daily basis - especially in the cold months and winter. And with Siesta Key Beach here you have the best beach on the whole eastern seaboard.

The friends I have in mind r near West Palm Beach.

That sounds un-lucky, qua huricanes.

@OmSigDAVID,
Your welcome.

I've been here 2.5 years and it's been pretty special. We've been extremely fortunate and have dodged a few risky tropical storms whereas just north of us Tampa (2012 Repug convention) got flooded. South from here about an 1 hr drive down in Punta Gorda got flattened about 7 or 8 yrs ago. Luck of the draw, perhaps. We seem to be in a protective bubble in Sarasota.

West Palm Beach is a fun place and warm with a great (but crowded) beach. By no means is it free of damaging hurricanes and tropical storms. The risk is pretty high there.

BTW, it's a sunny 55 deg here at 8:20 am and it'll go up to 72 deg by 2-3pm today...almost at our norm.

I wish for you a happy resettling.
