Thanks. My new phone and its camera is an improvement over my last one. Still not too satisfied with its output though.

I need to revitalize this thread. Walked around Prospect Park last weekend (but didn't take any photos to document it). This poor thread has been languishing too long with any activity.

This walk was a fun one. Good people to share the journey.

I got a new camera a couple of weeks ago. Took the first real pix with it while I was out on a sashay with a friend on Saturday. Way too leisurely to be called a walk

Have to figure out how to get the pix off the thing now!

Von is the real thing. I was a bit sad that I'd just come from lunch the next time I passed by. Their breakfast doughnut on Saturday ..... chocolate chip pancake and bacon. A mini choco chip pancake and a healthy healthy dose of crumbled bacon on top of a yeast doughnut!

Looking forward to walking more now that winter is over and there is more daylight and the snow is gone.

only 2 more sleeps before we head to Cyprus for a 10 day inn t0 inn hike in the Troodos mountains - hope there's a data connection up there.

I am about to walk out my door to something insanely ambitious today. More details when I finish.

There is a ruin of an old mill along the Jordan Creek and, last weekend , on an eagle walk, we finally found the ruins. Its been long lost and was supposed to be where Indians would take their grains to be milled into flour during the early 1700's (before the Revolution). Im gonna hike over there regularly with my metal detector and EM to see whether any metal artifacts can be found. Years ago, in another location I found a skanky little leather bag containing a bunch of gun flints, all were crafted to fit the pan on a British long gun(the PA long rifle used slightly narrower flints).

Getting to the mill takes me through some rather dense woodlands with a tangled understory (hence no deerhunters because deer havent grazed this area , something keeps them away). So its a good 3 mile hike back and forth to the car
