@maxdancona,

Doctor Who: The Name of the Doctor
Season 7 : Ep. 14 (44:31)

So both Hulu and IMDb have The Name of the Doctor as season seven's 14th episode.

@tsarstepan,
Interesting. There seems to be different ways to count. I put "The Name of the Doctor" as number 13.

Is the difference is that some people put the last Christmas Special (The Doctor the Widow and the Wardrobe) as number 1, and others of us don't start counting until the next episode?

@tsarstepan,
The Clara story didn't resonate with me. I am pretty sure this was my least favorite season ending ever.

@tsarstepan,
Doctor Who has become one of the most recognizable British icons to date. Perhaps 5 years ago, you wouldn't have seen very much in the way of Doctor Who items at Comic Con or in any stores. However, today you can find trinkets, repilicas, gadgets and toys of all types everywhere all related to Doctor Who. I've even seen Dalek plush toys in Hot Topic, and I've gotten a TARDIS necklace online. It's remarkable how far the television show reaches, and how far it's come. Personally, I'm saving up money to visit the Doctor Who Experience in Cardiff.

@tsarstepan,
I enjoyed it, interesting to see Bradley Walsh. I reckon he's going to be another Bernard Cribbins character. Take a well loved TV personality to provide the familiar face amongst all the change.

Although Bernard Cribbins did have links to Doctor Who before.

@izzythepush,
I wish they'd killed him off and kept the grandmother.

Just what we don't need in today's world, another scared, old, white guy.

(Yes, I'm aware he just plays a character that's written that way.)

@DrewDad,
I hope that they are more interested in story and character than they are to adhering to whatever standards of political correctness there are today. I think the idea was to have a diverse cast. As much as it is cool these days to hate "old white guys"... you can't exclude them and still call yourself diverse.

Jody Whittaker is great in the role. The fact she is a woman is irrelevant (as it should be). I suspect the "scared old white guy" is going to be an interesting character too.

@maxdancona,
They don't adhere to standards of political correctness, they reflect cultural moods. It's the 21st Century this side of the pond.

@DrewDad,
Bradley Walsh is a good comic foil. You don't know him, we do.

I hope you are right. I want great storytelling and interesting characters. That is the reason I watch Doctor Who. If I want a sermon, I will go to church.

The story is important. The characters are important. Political messages shouldn't get in the way.

There was a scene the Capaldi era was when Bill offended a blue alien.... it was a great scene, funny without being preachy.
