@Robert Gentel,
I would like to go everywhere, too. This is pretty much impossible at any age as the more you know an area the more you know that you don't know, if you are interested in all the history, etc. - but especially impossible for some of us. Given I'm open to "everywhere" and would be well funded, I have some places I've long wanted to see:
Europe, which I've read so much about. Haven't been to other than Italy, which is always first on my list, and which I like very much, but I imagine if I were there more, I'd want to venture out to other european countries and then other places:
(in present order of interest)
-follow the Danube River from Germany to the Black Sea, as described in the book Danube by Claudio Magris;
-visit Estonia, where a friend is from, Sweden, Poland, Germany;
-England, Irelands, Scotland, Wales (my heritage is mostly irish)
-Spain, Spain, Spain. Portugal.
-France - Morocco/Algeria
-Brazil (Argentina, Chile, Equador, Colombia, oh, give me a year)
I am not mentioning Mexico since I have been there quite a bit and like it. I would like to see Mexico DF again.
-Japan - Australia - Vietnam - India (that should take a while)
-several other african countries, with my niece
I see I skipped Russia and Mongolia and China. Well, another year there.
Oh, and while I have been to and liked Canada as a child, I have online pals there now, long lost family I could root out in Ontario, and a hankering to see British Columbia: therefore Canada could be a nice stop off for some of these other flights.
Fantasy is good. I spent part of today re-compiling a list of low-end hotels for a visit to Rome (very unlikely for financial reasons). This exercise keeps me acquainted with the city map.
