And yes it does get cold enough to freeze to death in Alabama.

Sweet Home Alabama, Lord I'm comin' home to you.

If you mean peoples, Mismi, I think some folks innards must get accustomed to dying from some pretty innocuous things. It don't seem possible to freeze to death in a place where it doesn't freeze long enough to freeze.

Maybe they die from hypothermia.

@JTT,
Peoples of course.

I am sure hypothermia is it.

I have many times thought I had frost bite...feet would hurt they would be so cold...of course flip flops in the winter may actually be proof of why I have never been accused of being too smart for my own good....

If they hurt, it's good. If there's no feeling, that's bad. Walk in a Spring fresh mountain stream and you'll know hurt. After a few times getting in and out, the hurt seems to go away, the big hurt anyway.

Funny thing though, you drop into a ice covered river/lake where the first thought that races across your mind is drowning/dying and you don't even feel the cold at all.

@JTT,
I can only imagine. I have never seen an ice covered lake or river. But I know I wouldn't want to fall into one.

@mismi,
it's not a lot of fun.

you learn to check the ice before you play on the ponds.

southern kids...

anyways, I gotta go do my 2 hours of sandblasting now.

the pond is down to two pools, full of algae and fishes.

tomorrow I will scoop 'em out and transport them to the fish ranch...

where's my stormtrooper helmet?

@Rockhead,
Have some coffee instead. That's what coffee is for.

@Rockhead,
Good!

I'm not really a coffee drinker either, but I make an exception occasionally when I'm feeling "foggy," as you put it. (In my case, it's usually allergies.) Coffee works better than tea for me, for some unknown reason.

@Eva,
mine all starts in my gut.

I buy my tea by the case at the little market by gram's.

a hot cuppa is the only good thing about cold weather...
