the cannas are blooming, and I had a mystery plant.

it's a variegated yellow leaf canna that I bought at the farmers market because I liked the stripey leaves.

it bloomed this morning. a giant orange flared bud. bigger and bolder than any of my other types.

too cool...

I should grow some cannas again. I haven't grown any in a couple years.

yep, that's my fleur.

speaking of flares...

I spent about an hour last night talking to a retired surgeon that used to do crohns patients.

scared me to death...

but reaffirmed my dietary commitments.

and desire not to be cut on.

off to mr vw's, his water is still all jacked up.

too many cooks in the soup, we think.

back to the triple digit ****...

think Ima take smoky to see the crispy kid.

at least it's nice and cool in the horse pistol.

motivation is hard to come by right now...

gram gave up on me today.

my situation does not fit well with her world view. it's embarrassing for her.

even the rest of her family doesn't know.

although in her defense, she wouldn't really believe I was sick until very recently.

and she absolutely doesn't want to talk about it.

"when anybody else gets sick, they don't let it affect them like I do. if I just smiled and didn't let it get me down, it might just all go away..."

"I chose to live my life this way, I should've been like everyone else, and got a job that had good health insurance 20 years or more ago. like my grampa did..." (it's like she's channeling foxy)

"other people get sick, and they still work, and go out to eat (this is VERY important to her), and don't let it run their lives"


everywhere I turn, I have become a net negative.

then I realized it was getting dark, and I still hadda diagnose the malibu while I can still see it...

then, after a longish phone call, and going ahead and fighting with a broken shock absorber on the beretta, I realized the salmon was still sitting on the countertop.

where it looks just like I left it...

my pyro buddy wants to purchase Sparky the electrician's CHIP's style cop bike.

we had talked about it last time he was here, and I brought photos with me to work this morning.

he's excited. he has a fleet of police vehicles, but no motorcycles.

I'm excited.

Sparky is gonna be REAL excited.

and hopefully offer to do more free electrician type stuff for me in the shop...

and my buddy wants to see if mebbe I can find some other vehicles he wants in his stable.
