@ehBeth,
I think it's real...

she is the costume designer at the dinner theater.

I had a production meeting at 9 this morning, followed by Jackson Browne.

I got away for dinner break and brought her a gator dinner. (I had gumbo) and she removed a rope splinter from my finger. damned old hemp...

I have a 4 hour call over there in the morning, so I'm guessing a lunch date is in the works.

we'll see...

@eurocelticyankee,
oddly enough, Saturday night I worked a show called girls night.

the main prop was an inflatable gentleman named Peter Pecker.

I was not responsible for fluffing...

@ehBeth,
Glad you didn't fluff Peter Pecker.

I think. I suppose that depends on your personal preferences. Razz Shocked

She removed a hemp splinter. Sweet Rocky.

things are either working very well, or there is a train wreck coming.

I like the former idea...

@Rockhead,
Sounds as if things are going really well - fingers firmly crossed they continue to do so.

@vonny,
fingers crossed here as well...

been working daily for a bit. building set pieces.

and a road box for a pricey animated dragon...

80 inches long. 3 x 3 square.

with foam rests for the puppet.

took me all day.

and my effort was well received...

got my own key to the stage building shop.

and I swapped a bench grinder on a stand (of which I have 3) for a handheld bandsaw (of which I have had a desire for a while...)

gotta bring some big clamps with tomorrow.

gonna suck the sides in and lid my big box. (450 pounds on wheels)

then we move the fake baby grand pianos that have electric keyboards built into them over to the theater.

and begin to build the spiral stairs...

I always wanted to do a real spiral stair. I built some with good turns in them, but never a true spiral.

Best spiral stairs ... Loretto Chapel in Santa Fe. Built in 1878 by a mysterious carpenter without any nails or center support -- or railing ... they added that later for safety for the nuns who used the stairs to get to the loft.

@Ticomaya,
we didn't get to the stairs today. the stage was stolen for rehearsal.

so we finished building fake baby grand pianos out of plywood 1x4s and luan.

one of the musicians asked us if we tore up an old piano to put the keyboard in.

made me feel good...

went out and cut trees in the rain.

felt good. other than my bad back screaming at me...

gonna take a soaky bath, and go buy some more heat wraps.

gotta be at the crown by two.

still have one piano to move over from the shop to the stage and set them on the platform.

then minion number one (I am minion #2...) will begin building stairs.

I am not sure what my afternoon mission will be.

hopefully it involves very little heavy lifting...

My boss man gave me instructions and then left me to work on finishing the second fake piano.

(pictures if I can figure out how to get them off of my phone)

it came out nicely nicely...

we meet at 9 am to build the stairs and finish the set.

have to be off the stage by 6 for rehearsal.

gonna be a long day.

got me a coupla pain pills to keep my back at bay.

chatting with Jack while my laundry finishes drying.

I need me a maid...
