it was the PBR.

not like doing it for Foreigner and Styx next month...

but I feel like I am moving up the chain in good fashion.

in another year and a half I qualify for the big jump to the C list.

until then we will continue with the feast and famine plan.

short night. gotta be back in in the morning early...

the last 8 are the toughest.

we had to do two hours last night stripping the wires off of the steel.

after we left, the stock guys started dismantling the cage grid. then at 4 am the dump trucks started filing in to remove 35 loads of dirt. (I had to shower before I could go bed)

when we get there they will start dropping all the crap in the air. including the world's oldest and heaviest led screen...

got monday to myself to recover, then Tuesday I load bricks on the fly floor for a play at C2.

verra tired.

I took Billy after the rodeo gig was over and we cut down a 40 foot elm tree that was keeping me from relocating the trash dumpster.

storms moving through now.

gonna lump until Tuesday...

once I get the vert done, yes...

got switched from brick loader to carp when I showed up. and given a deckhand position during the three performances.

that is verra good...

(did gram's grocery shopping on my afternoon break)

tomorrow I will work on the sale truck early, and clean up for the show in the evening.

got a big truck to move with. gonna do it in one big swoop...

Memphis is gone. off to Butte or Sioux City or somesuch desolate outpost of humanity. Celtic Woman comes in at 10 am...

I know I've done my job right when my show lead comes out to the truck to find me and shake my hand in his flip flops from the shower before he hits the bus.

we kicked ass...

and instead of t-shirts, they give us bandannas as shwag.

white...

oh well.

my theater work is over for the week. I won...

nothing on the radar until next friday.

gonna switch to car restoration mode tomorrow.

see if the vert wants to run again.

none of my parts were ordered locally like they were supposed to.

gonna get on line and find a new supplier. maybe even turn it into a small enterprise. I'm not the only dissatisfied vw customer in these parts...

I wear a bandanna often to keep my hair in line.

but white and me aren't best friends...

I'm trying to trade it for a red one. I try to wear red when I down-rig. so they can see me from the roof...

dunno yet.

worked all weekend over at the new house trying to get it ready to be lived in again. it has not been a house for a few years...

today I need to get my vert parts in order.

and clean out the new garage some more, if the rains stay away...

long day.

got a lot done. the shop is a coupla more days from occupiable. the house could be used now.

had a visit from two black and whites.

they seemed happy to meet me.

we will be good friends before it's all over.

and they make me feel old...

damned Kansas weather...

storms have passed now. gonna go back to putting new rubber parts on the vert.

it looks like a car again...

and I just got a most pleasant surprise. went to switch my electric service over to the new jernt on the first.

I get a rebate.

the deposit is several hundred less. so I won't get a power bill until mid-summer...

yahoo....

the owner of the vert sheepishly left a message on mr vw's machine. (he's not allowed to call me)

he is having a garage sale, and is unable to accept the vert this week.

(Ima keep trudging forward as though this is not the case, but my sense of doom is fading)

dunno what I ever did before the internet.

all the wiring diagrams are available for free on this bug.

got most of my connections remade. gonna try and fire it Sunday, I think...

pretty pleased with all the looks I am getting from townsfolk driving by as I assemble it in my driveway.

I made BFD last night after we got done putting fenders on. (he was barefoot before we were half way done working)

he put away a giant 4 egg omelette and half a skillet of hashbrowns.

kid can eat...

I keep staring at the leftover colby-jack cheese and wondering what if...
